Chad Lusk is a managing director with Alvarez & Marsal, Consumer and Retail Group, where he specializes in large-scale organization and commercial transformations across consumer-facing industries, with a focus on growth strategy, marketing and innovation. In his role, Chad brings together a nearly 20-year combination of top-tier consulting with senior executive operator experience. Following his tenure at McKinsey & Company, Chad held multiple Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Marketing Officer positions across CPG snacking companies and retail, including Ferrara Candy, Hostess Brands and Mid-Atlantic Convenience Stores.
Dave SteckVice President of IT Infrastructure and Application Development, Schnuck Markets
Dave Steck is the vice president of IT infrastructure and application development at Schnuck Markets. In partnership with Schnucks Store Operations, Dave led the implementation and rollout of Simbe robots, known as Tally, across all stores of the regional grocer. He and his team are actively engaged with the chainwide rollout of Electronic Shelf Labels (ESLs) and as of May 1, 2023, have over 1.2 million tags paired in 27 stores. Dave was recognized by RIS in 2021 as one of the Top 10 Influentials in retail.

Derek Gaskins is the chief marketing officer for Yesway. In this role, Derek directs all marketing, merchandising and procurement efforts for the Yesway brand. Prior to joining Yesway, Derek served as chief customer officer for Rutter’s convenience stores and dairy business, where he was instrumental in developing award-winning customer engagement programs and positioned the brand as one of the best in the retail industry. Before Rutter’s, Derek held positions with Mid-Atlantic Convenience Stores (MACS), National Association for Convenience Stores (NACS), Fuel Retailing and Giant Eagle.
Michael WaitDirector, IT Store Technologies, Schnuck Markets
Michael Wait is the director of IT store technologies at Schnuck Markets. Michael is responsible for point of sale, technology in stores, field services, special projects and some areas of Application Development. Mike and his team are working to lay the foundational elements needed to bring the company to the forefront of technology.
