2021 Participant Waiver

The Sweets & Snacks Expo and its affiliated events (collectively, “SSE” or “Sweets & Snacks Expo”) is owned by the National Confectioners Association and managed by ConvExx, Inc. (collectively, “Show Management”). In exchange for and as a condition of being allowed to attend SSE, I acknowledge the following:

  • The Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) has been declared a worldwide pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO). COVID-19 can cause serious and potentially life-threatening illness, including death.
  • COVID-19 is reported to be extremely contagious. The state of medical knowledge continues to evolve, but the virus is believed to spread through airborne particles, person-to-person contact, and contact with contaminated surfaces and objects. People can be infected and show no symptoms and therefore spread the disease.
  • Show Management have put in place reasonable measures in accordance with guidance from the CDC, the State of Indiana, and the Marion County Public Health Department in an attempt to reduce the risk of infection from COVID-19 while attending SSE. However, Show Management cannot prevent any attendee from becoming exposed to, contracting, or spreading COVID-19 while attending SSE.
  • While attending SSE, I shall comply with all posted policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, mask-wearing, frequent handwashing, social distancing, refraining from certain activities that carry higher COVID-related risks, and such other restrictions and requirements that are imposed by federal, state and local law, or recommended by health authorities, in order to protect as much as possible the health and safety of all SSE attendees.
  • I will not attend SSE if I have been exposed to COVID-19 or have any COVID-19 symptoms as identified by the CDC.
  • I voluntarily and knowingly agree to assume all COVID-19-related health risks that may relate to or arise out of my participation in or presence at SSE.
  • To the maximum extent allowed by law, I agree to waive, release and hold harmless Show Management, as well as each of their respective members, directors, officers, employees, agents and other representatives (collectively, “Released Parties”), from, and waive on behalf of myself, my heirs, and any personal representatives any and all claims for damage or loss to myself and/or property that may be caused by any act, or failure to act, of Show Management, or that may otherwise arise in connection with my presence at SSE.
  • This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Indiana.
